Five Minute Friday-Enough

Hi Everyone-

This is new challenge for me, something I’m going to try to do more often than occasionally, but we will see what life has to say about that.

Anyways, this is a weekly challenge from my bloggy friend Lisa-Jo Baker, who blogs (and writes heart-breakingly, beautiful words and stories) at http://lisajobaker.com/

So, here’s the challenge: you write for 5 minutes, free, like you have no fear or no shame or no editor inside your head (that’s a hard one for me, just so you know)…and then you link up to her blog, and encourage the writer who links up before you.

Each week is a new word, a new thought starter, and you have 5 minutes to write….and are you ready? go-

ENOUGH

When is it enough?

Smart enough

Tall enough

Thin enough

Nice but mean enough

We are always asking when it is enough, when in actuality it is all too much.

It is all so much, a tornado of paperwork, status updates, tweets, bills, piles, things to do and of course things to be.  When do we say enough?

I say to the world silently in my own head

Stop

Stop

Stop

And I wonder when we are going to have the sense to heed what’s in our heads and hearts as opposed to always listening to our ego and desire to out-do each other, out-organize each other out-craft each other on Pinterest; we try to out-perfect each other.  I wonder if we will ever know we are enough.

  2. Oh my goodness! I love this line “We are always asking when it is enough, when in actuality it is all too much.” It’s so, so true.
